Uses of Unwanted-72 Tablet
Unwanted-72 is used for emergency contraception following unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. It is intended as a backup contraceptive option and should not be used as a regular method of contraception.
How Unwanted-72 Works
Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestogen. Emergency contraceptive levonorgestrel works primarily by preventing or delaying ovulation, thereby reducing the chance of fertilization when taken before ovulation. It does not terminate an existing pregnancy and should not be considered an abortion medicine.
How to Take Unwanted-72 Tablet
Take one Unwanted-72 Tablet orally as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. It should ideally be taken immediately and within 72 hours (3 days). It can generally be taken with or without food.
The sooner levonorgestrel emergency contraception is taken after unprotected intercourse, the better it can work. It is intended for emergency use and should not replace regular contraception.
Possible Side Effects
Some women may experience temporary side effects after taking Unwanted-72. Common effects may include nausea, headache, tiredness, lower abdominal discomfort, dizziness, and changes in menstrual bleeding. The next period may occur earlier or later than expected. Most side effects are temporary.

What If You Miss the 72-Hour Window?
Unwanted-72 is specifically intended for emergency use within 72 hours. If more than 72 hours have passed since unprotected intercourse, speak with a healthcare professional promptly about appropriate emergency contraception options.
Unwanted-72 vs Regular Contraception
Unwanted-72 is an emergency contraceptive, not a regular birth-control method. Frequent reliance on emergency contraception is not recommended as a substitute for an ongoing contraceptive method. For regular pregnancy prevention, discuss suitable contraceptive options with a qualified healthcare professional.
